VECTRA® 3D Imaging
Imagine if you could see the results of a cosmetic procedure before you ever had to get near an operating table. Well, now you can!
VECTRA® 3D Imaging is a tool that can aid in pre-operative planning. The VECTRA® 3D simulation technology and sculpture software allows board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Pearlman to have more meaningful and compelling consultations with his patients.
What Is VECTRA® 3D Imaging?
VECTRA® 3D Imaging is an innovative technology that has changed the way plastic surgeons perform surgical consultations. The patient can design a customized surgical plan and preview a three-dimensional model of their anticipated results prior to having a procedure performed.
Although the VECTRA® 3D Imaging is primarily used for breast augmentation surgery, it can also be an excellent tool for rhinoplasty. Dr. Pearlman performs VECTRA® 3D Imaging on most patients being seen for a primary rhinoplasty and/or chin augmentation.
How Is VECTRA® 3D Imaging Performed?
Dr. Pearlman will focus a high-resolution color image camera on the face. In just a few minutes, six photos are taken simultaneously to create a three-dimensional image that are morphed into a 3D face. The sophisticated imaging equipment allows mapping of the face’s surface anatomy. After the photos are uploaded, a virtual model can be created with the special software to display the 3D image. Dr. Pearlman can now manipulate the virtual model to customize the patient’s nose to provide a visualization of the results.
The Benefits of VECTRA® 3D Imaging
With VECTRA® 3D Imaging, the patient and the surgeon can communicate more easily and have the same result in mind. VECTRA® 3D also provides valuable information for the patient to make a more informed decision by identifying asymmetries that may naturally exist on the body. It also demonstrates the benefits of having a complementary procedure performed, such as chin augmentation along with rhinoplasty for a better facial profile. VECTRA® 3D Imaging increases patient satisfaction and takes a significant amount of the guesswork out of visualizing the end result.
