11th International Symposium on Facial Plastic Surgery
This past May I attended the 11th International Symposium on Facial Plastic Surgery. This meeting occurs every 2 years, alternating between the US and abroad. This year there were around 1,000 attendees. I started my experience on Wednesday where I gave a course on revision tip rhinoplasty. My co-speaker was Dr. Abel-Jan Tasmen from Switzerland.
I also presented two edited surgical videos on rhinoplasty. The first video highlighted the treatment of the crooked nose. The second video was about a specific technique we use to strengthen and/or lengthen nasal tips used mostly in revision rhinoplasty called caudal septal extension graft.
That Friday I was tasked with organizing a two-day practice management forum with marketing guru Wendy Lewis. I also gave a lecture introducing the Pearl Lift.
We were celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the AAFPRS, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In the photo above I’m standing with internationally recognized rhinoplasty surgeon Dr. Robert Simons, one of the first presidents of the AAFPRS and one of our most highly regarded teachers.
